Recent Updates

Well what has been going on recently on the website? Minor changes really, since my major focus has been on finalising the Events module for its next release. In any case, here’s a summary of what’s happened:-

  • Upgrades to the main DotNetNuke framework to version 4.9.2. DNN is now in two version – Professional edition, which is paid for and comes with committed support. Community edition, which is the same code base, but is free and is supported on the standard lines of open source development, through the community.

These upgrades are aimed primarily at removing bugs and improving security. The next major step forward will be to DNN 5.x, when it is truly ready for production release.
  • Upgrades to the Gallery and the Newsletter module to keep in line with supported releases. There are minor changes, improving functionality of the slideshow in the Gallery. I’ve also added a latest photos element to the gallery, to give a quick view for browsers of what has been recently added.

  • image Also a change to the graphic used for the club logo. For a number of years we have been using a graphic that to be honest isn’t of high quality, and has restricted how it can be used. Lee Royle has generated a new one, with slightly changed elements, but which allow us to generate high quality graphics of almost unlimited size.

They are both shown here. Old on the left, and new on the right. You can also see the logo in place at top left of the site.
