Welcome to the June Newsletter

Club Dives

Since the last newsletter, the club has completed open water dives at Poole and advanced open water at Lundy. Both trips were fully booked. Sea temperature is definitely picking up (13 degrees last weekend off Portsmouth) so if you haven’t booked a place on one of the upcoming dives, what are you waiting for?

Next available dives are:

Weymouth/Portland OW June 4/5th

Wraysbury All levels Wednesday Evening June 15th

Eastbourne AOW+ June 25/26th (4-wreck weekend)

Portsmouth OW/AOW July 16/17th

Swanage All levels June 30th/31st

As usual, more details and how to book are on the dive calendar .

If you can help organise a dive weekend, why not contact the club (>18m) or orientation (<18m) dive organiser? They can give lots of guidance and will really appreciate the support!

Social And Club Nights

Next meeting will be a spring BBQ social at the maiden over combined with a kit talk by David Jones from Triton Scuba on side mounting cylinders  – not just for techies this one! Come along, enjoy the free Bar-B and learn about the benefits of having your tank valves in front of you!

Speaker Schedule

July:   Nigel Wade talking about U/W photography

If you are interested in taking part please contact Hannah Theakston on hannah@roxyfish.co.uk .

And finally…

Morag’s wedding!

Morag Ward has been an active member of The Diving Club for a number of years and regular member of the committee in various roles. We are now losing her to the Welsh valleys but she would like to invite all club members to celebrate her marriage to ‘Charley’ – perhaps combine with a day at Chepstow NDAC?

Hi All

Some of you will already know that I am getting married later this year - Friday, August 12

Charley and I have had to limit the numbers at the ceremony and reception, but we have decided that, as the wedding will take place in a hotel, with a bar, we would like to extend an invitation widely for our evening do.

So, if you would like to come, the venue is The Abbey Hotel, Monmouth Road, Tintern, Chepstow, Gwent, NP16 6SF. We are organising a light buffet at around 8pm, but you would be welcome to arrive anytime after around 7:30pm.

Morag

Regards
